Ingredients

  • 6 lb. cabbage (about 3 medium heads)
  • 3 Tbsp. salt
  • 2 ?? celery, chopped
  • 2 bell peppers, chopped
  • 5 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. water
  • 2 1/2 c. white vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. celery seed
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard seed

Directions

    Sprinkle cabbage with salt; let stand 1 hour.

    Add celery and bell peppers.

    Let stand 20 minutes longer.

    Drain well.

    Combine sugar, water, vinegar, celery seed and mustard seed; bring to a boil.

    Pour over cabbage mixture and mix well.

    Cool.

    Put in freezer containers and seal.

    Label and date, then freeze.

    Thaw and serve with your favorite meals.
