- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 6 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 egg white
Directions

1Sprinkle dry yeast onto 1/4 cup very warm water.

2Stir and let stand until it bubbles.

3Pour boiling water over shortening, salt and sugar in large mixing bowl.

4Add 3/4 cup cold water and cool to lukewarm.

5Add yeast and gradually beat in enough flour to form stiff dough.
