French Bread Pudding

  • 8 oz. French bread (several days old is desirable)
  • 24 oz. can homogenized milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/3 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
  • 3 apples (medium size), peeled and sliced in 1/2-inch chunks
  • 1/2 c. seedless raisins
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk

Directions

    Soak French bread in homogenized milk until soft.

    Add slightly beaten eggs, sugar, vanilla, pie spice, apples, raisins and butter and mix well.

    Mix in balance of milk and bake at 375° for 60 minutes or until brown.
