Ingredients
- 1 c. sugar, divided
- 1 egg
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 c. sifted flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- melted butter
Directions

1Cream 1/2 cup sugar, egg and shortening.

2Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg.

3Add creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.

4Fill 12 greased muffin pan holes 2/3 full with batter.

5Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes.

6When done, dip puffs, while hot, in melted butter, then roll into 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon mixture.

7Freezes well.

8Serve hot or cold.
