Ingredients
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1 c. milk
- 1/4 c. granulated sugar
- 1/4 c. cooking oil
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- oil for deep frying
- Sugar Glaze
Directions

1Combine 1 1/2 cups flour, the yeast and nutmeg.

2Combine milk, sugar, oil and salt; heat until warm.

3Add to dry ingredients and add egg.

4Beat at low speed of electric mixer for 1/2 minute. Beat 3 minutes at high speed.

5By hand, stir in remaining flour to make a soft dough.

6Place dough in greased bowl and turn once. Cover and chill.

7Place dough on lightly floured surface, cover and let rest 10 minutes.

8Roll dough to 18 x 12-inch rectangle. Cut into donut shapes.

9Cover again and let rise 30 minutes.

10Fry in deep hot (375°) oil until golden, turning once.

11Drain and dip into glaze.

12Makes 2 1/2 dozen donuts.
