- 1/3 c. soft shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 c. sifted flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 c. milk
- 6 Tbsp. melted butter
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Directions

1Combine shortening, half of the sugar, and egg; mix thoroughly.

2Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Stir into egg mixture alternately with milk.

3Beat well after each addition.

4Fill greased muffin tins 2/3 full.

5Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.

6Immediately roll in melted butter and then in mixture of remaining sugar and cinnamon.

7Serve hot.
