French Pear Pie

  • 1 (9-inch) pie shell
  • 2 c. pears
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. ginger
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. yogurt or sour cream

    Simmer pears until tender in small amount of water; drain. Arrange pears in shell.

    Combine flour, sugar, ginger and yogurt; mix well.

    Pour over pears.

    Combine flour, brown sugar and nutmeg. Cut in butter to make crumbly topping.

    Sprinkle over filling. Bake at 400° for 25 to 30 minutes.
