Ingredients

  • 3 lb. stew meat, trimmed
  • 3/4 pkg. creaming onions or 1 large can creaming onions
  • 1 (No. 2) can tomatoes
  • 1 (No. 2) can tiny green beans, drained
  • 1 (No. 2) can small peas, drained
  • 1/2 c. wine or sherry
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 to 1 1/2 Tbsp. salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 2 large carrots
  • 1/2 can beef consomme
  • 4 Tbsp. Minute tapioca
  • 1/2 c. prepared bread crumbs

    Mix.

    Put in oven, covered, at 250° and cook for at least 6 to 7 hours.

    Takes about 25 minutes to prepare ingredients. Trim fat from meat. Do not open while cooking.

    Serve over wild rice or noodles. Serves 4 to 6 people.
