  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 2 Tbsp. light corn syrup
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • Texas toast bread
  • 5 eggs
  • 3/4 of a small can evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Directions

    Melt margarine, syrup and sugar. Pour into greased 9 X 13 pan. Place 6 slices Texas toast on top of mixture. Beat together eggs, milk, vanilla and salt. Pour over top of the bread. Cover with foil. Refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350° uncovered for 30 to 40 minutes. When ready to serve, turn pieces of bread over and caramel will be on top.
