Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. salad oil (Gerry says 1 c. oil and 1/2 c. water is better)
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 3 c. chopped raw apples (tart apples are the best)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • 2 tsp. baking powder

Directions

  1. 1
Peel and chop apples and set aside.

Beat until creamy on low speed of electric mixer.
  4. 4
Sift flour and measure; sift again with salt, baking soda and baking powder.
  5. 5
Add a small amount of flour mixture at a time to the creamed mixture.
  6. 6
    Beat well after each addition.
  7. 7
When all flour has been added, remove electric mixer and fold in chopped pecans and raw chopped apples.
