  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 c. sliced apples
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 c. cooking oil
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 2 beaten eggs

    Peel and slice 4 cups apples. Put in a bowl and sprinkle 2 cups sugar over the apples; set aside. Sift together flour, salt, soda and cinnamon. Add to apples. Mix 2 eggs, oil, vanilla and nuts to the apple mixture. Stir until well mixed. Batter will be dry. Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
