  • 6 to 8 fresh apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 1 stick oleo, melted
  • 1 c. quick cook rolled oats
  • 1 c. chopped pecans

Directions

    Spread apples in 9 x 15-inch (2 1/2 to 3-quart) baking dish. Sprinkle spices, sugar and water.

    Mix next 3 ingredients and sprinkle over apples.

    Spread pecans over topping.

    Bake at 350° for 1 hour.

    If browns too fast, reduce heat to 325° for last 1/2 hour.

    Serve hot with ice cream or Cool Whip.
