  • 12 lb. apples, sliced (tart)
  • 3 lb. 4 oz. sugar
  • 4 oz. flour
  • 2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 8 oz. butter or margarine, melted

    Arrange apples in 8 deep pie pans that have been lined with pastry.

    Mix the following and sprinkle over the apples: sugar, flour, nutmeg and butter.

    Cover with pastry.

    Brush top with milk.

    Bake approximately 15 minutes at 425°, then 30 minutes at 350° or until apples are done.
