Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c sugar
  • 1/4 c water
  • 1/8 t cream of tartar
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 t vanilla
  • coconut

Directions

    Boil sugar, water and cream of tartar to soft ball stage (can be picked up when tested in cold water).

    Beat egg whites.
  3. 3
    Add sugar syrup to egg whites and beat until thick.
  4. 4
    Add vanilla. Frost cake then sprinkle with coconut.
