Ingredients
- 6 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp. mixed pickling spices
- 2 stalks celery
- 2 lb. medium or large fresh or frozen shrimp
Directions

1Combine water, salt, vinegar, bay leaves, spices and celery. Bring to boil.

2Add shrimp (in shell or peeled and deveined). Cover, heat to boiling again.

3Lower and simmer gently for 5 minutes more until shrimp turns pink; drain.

4If cooked in shell, peel shrimp and remove veins that run down back.

5Serve as an appetizer.

6Chill and pass cocktail sauce.

7Makes 4 or 5 servings.
