  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • fresh fruit (peaches, apples or small purple plums)

    Combine flour, baking powder and salt.

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Beat in eggs.

    Add milk and vanilla.

    Pour into a greased and floured 9-inch pan.

    Slice fresh fruit.

    Lay it on batter. Bake at 350° for about 25 to 30 minutes.
