Ingredients
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. onion, chopped
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1 c. water
- 6 medium tomatoes, peeled, seeded and diced
- 1 Tbsp. minced parsley
- 1 1/4 Tbsp. salt
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. thyme
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- lemon slices (for garnish)
Directions

1In 3-quart pan, heat oleo.

2Cook onions until tender.

3Stir in flour.

4Slowly stir in water.

5Add tomatoes and remaining ingredients (except lemon slices).

6Heat to a boil.

7Reduce heat to low.

8Cover and simmer 20 minutes.

9Stir frequently.

10Add more water, if needed.
