- 2 c. dried apples
- 2 c. flour (self-rising)
- 3/4 c. Crisco
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- sugar to taste
Directions

1Cook dried apples with enough water to cover.

2Add sugar to taste; set aside.

3Mix flour and Crisco together like biscuit dough until mealy.

4Add water and buttermilk (May add more or less butter until dough is like biscuit dough.)

5Knead dough; roll out thin. Use a saucer to lay on dough; cut a circle.

6Put cooked apples on half the circle; fold other half on top of apple half.

7Pinch together edges; prick middle with a fork.

8Fry in Crisco oil that has covered the bottom of a pan.

9Cook in electric skillet or iron skillet until brown.
