- 1 head cabbage
- 1/2 part shortening and 1/2 part butter (to fry)
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Cut cabbage in quarters, then slice by quarters.

2Fry cabbage in shortening and butter until almost done.

3Salt and pepper to taste.

4Add approximately 1/3 cup water (depending on size of cabbage head).

5Simmer about 5 more minutes.

6Before removing cabbage, add 2 to 4 tablespoons sugar over top.

7Cook another 5 minutes.

8Sure is good with good mashed potatoes.
