- 6 ears fresh corn
- 1/4 c. bacon fat or shortening
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 c. water
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 stick butter or margarine
Directions

1Shuck corn.

2Remove corn silk and wash each ear of corn.

3Cut kernels off the corn, using the down stroke of a sharp knife to remove.

4Then cut close to the cob again with knife's sharp edge. (This is referred to as cream-style cutting.)

5Scrape juice out of the corn by passing the knife once more over the cob.
