- 3 c. boiling water
- 3/4 c. cold water
- 1 c. cornmeal
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Moisten cornmeal with enough cold water to make a paste.

2Stir paste into boiling salted water, beating thoroughly.

3Stir until it thickens.

4Cook at low heat for 10 to 15 minutes.

5Pour hot into a narrow baking pan; let stand until cold and solid.

6Cut in thick slices and fry on both sides in a well buttered hot skillet until nicely browned.
