- 1 c. yellow cornmeal
- 1 c. cold water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. sugar
Directions

1Mix all ingredients together.

2Bring to boil 2 3/4 cups water, then add the cornmeal, water, salt and sugar mixture, stirring all the time.

3Cook until thick.

4Reduce heat, cover pan and cook 5 more minutes, frequently stirring.

5Pour into loaf pan and cool, then refrigerate several hours.

6Slice and fry in hot fat, slowly turning only once.
