- 4 to 6 ears field corn
- 4 Tbsp. butter or oleo
- 1/2 tsp. salt or to taste
- black pepper to taste
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- water
- 1/2 c. milk
Directions

1Make thin cuttings from each ear of corn and scrape the rest from the cob.

2Place in heavy skillet with melted butter.

3Add salt, sugar and pepper.

4Cook slowly on low heat, adding water as needed and stirring often.

5Field corn expands as it cooks, so this will make a lot.

6Cook about 40 minutes.

7Add milk.

8Place in 350° oven and cook 20 to 30 minutes.
