- 3/4 c. self-rising flour
- 1/4 c. cornmeal
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 3/4 c. milk (buttermilk may be used)
- 1 egg
- 3 or 4 green tomatoes, cut into 1/4-inch slices
Directions

1Mix dry ingredients.

2Dip slices into blended egg and milk. Coat with dry mixture and fry until crisp (in enough oil to cover the coated tomato).

3Turn once.

4Serve hot.
