  • 4 large green tomatoes
  • 1/2 c. all-purpose flour or cornmeal
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • bacon drippings or salad oil

Directions

    Cut tomatoes into 1/4-inch slices.

    Combine flour, salt and pepper; dredge tomato slices with this mixture.

    Place in heavy skillet containing hot bacon drippings.
