- 4 large green tomatoes
- 1/2 c. all-purpose flour or cornmeal
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- bacon drippings or salad oil
Directions

1Cut tomatoes into 1/4-inch slices.

2Combine flour, salt and pepper; dredge tomato slices with this mixture.

3Place in heavy skillet containing hot bacon drippings.

4Fry slowly until brown, turning once.
