- 3 firm green tomatoes
- 1 egg
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 c. meal or cracker crumbs
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Cut tomatoes in 1/4-inch slices.

2Beat egg in bowl.

3Add milk, salt and pepper.

4Mix flour, meal or cracker crumbs and 1/2 teaspoon salt in second bowl.

5Turn tomato slices over in egg mix, then in the flour mix.

6Pan-fry in 1 cup vegetable oil at 350°. Brown on both sides.

7Drain excess fat on paper towel.
