  • 1 qt. okra
  • 2 c. milk
  • 2 c. cornmeal
  • 2 tsp. pepper
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • cooking oil

Directions

    Slice okra; place in bowl and cover with milk and let stand for 30 minutes; drain.

    Put cornmeal and pepper in a bag.

    Add okra; shake, then fry.

    Turn only once during frying.

    Drain on paper towel.

    Salt.
