- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 small white onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 19 ounces canned black beans or 1 1/2 cups cooked black beans
- 1/2 red chili, finely chopped
- 2 stems cilantro, chopped, for garnish
Directions

1Cook the onion in the butter until soft then add the garlic and chili and cook for a further minute.

2Drain the beans, reserving the cooking liquid. Add the cooked beans, with a little of their cooking liquid and whiz in the food processor.

3Remove beans to a bowl, stir in onion, garlic, and chili and season to taste.
