- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 c. raisins
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Directions

1Boil raisins and water 5 to 10 minutes to soften.

2Drain raisins, saving 1 cup water.

3Add soda to water and set aside. Cream sugar and shortening.

4Add eggs, water and vanilla.

5Add the remaining dry ingredients to the wet.

6Add raisins.

7Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

8Let cool and frost with Struedel Topping.
