Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. light molasses
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 4 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Cream butter, sugar and molasses.

    Add buttermilk, vanilla and flour sifted with soda and salt.

    Mix well.

    Refrigerate overnight.

    Roll out 1/8-inch thick.

    Cut out with cookie cutter. Bake at 375° about 8 to 10 minutes.

    Do not grease cookie sheet. Makes a lot of cookies.

    Frost with 1 recipe Seven Minute Icing.
