Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 squares chocolate
  • 2 cups whipping cream
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup raisins, chopped
  • 1/4 cup dates, chopped
  • 1/2 cup nuts, chopped
  • 1/4 cup maraschino cherries, chopped

    Melt sugar and grated chocolate to milk in a saucepan until mixture is slightly thick.

    Chill.

    Whip cream until thick but not stiff.

    Add chocolate mixture, vanilla, nuts, and raisins and dates which have been plumped by cooking in a small amount of water which is allowed to evaporate.

    Freeze at the coldest temperature for 1-1/2 hours, then reduce cold for remainder of freezing period.
