  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 c. self-rising flour, sifted
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. lemon
  • 4 c. chopped pecans
  • 2 lb. mixed candied fruit or 1 lb. pineapple and 1 lb. cherries

Directions

    Cream the butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time.

    Fold in 1 cup flour. Add vanilla and lemon.

    Mix remaining cup of flour with fruit and nuts. Add to cake mixture.

    Use Bundt pan or 2 loaf pans. Bake at 250° for 2 1/2 hours.
