Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 9 large eggs or 12 small eggs
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 pkg. mixed fruit
  • 1 pkg. dates
  • 1 pkg. raisins
  • 1 pkg. pineapple
  • 1/2 box dark raisins
  • 1 large bottle cherries (drain; save juice)
  • 1/2 c. + 1 Tbsp. orange, lemon and almond extract (add enough juice to make 1/2 c.)
  • 1/2 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 Tbsp. allspice
  • 1 Tbsp. nutmeg
  • 1 c. pecans
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. English walnuts
  • 1 c. Brazil nuts

Directions

    Mix flour, sugar, butter and eggs in a large pan.

    Add chopped nuts and fruits.

    Line cake pans with brown paper and grease paper.

    Put a pan of water in the oven while baking.

    Will fill 2 angel food cake tins.

    Bake at 300° for 4 hours.

    Remove from pans.

    Wrap with cheesecloth and soak.
