  • 1 lb. nuts
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 lb. candied cherries
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 small can evaporated milk
  • 1 pkg. vanilla wafers or box

    Crush vanilla wafers with a rolling pin.

    Chop cherries and nuts, keeping out 4 whole cherries and 16 pecan halves.

    Mix cherries, nuts and raisins with vanilla wafer crumbs.

    Beat eggs well.

    Add sugar, salt and milk.

    To this mixture, add fruit, nuts and Jackson's vanilla wafers mixture, mixing well.

    Let stand while

    preparing pan with wax paper.

    Pack in pan.

    Decorate top with cherries and pecan halves.

    Bake in moderate oven, 325°, for 1 hour.
