Fruit Cake Cookies

  • 2 lb. dates, chopped
  • 1/2 lb. candied cherries, chopped (red or green)
  • 1/2 lb. candied pineapple, chopped
  • 4 c. English walnuts or pecans, chopped
  • 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

    Put dates, cherries, pineapple and nuts in bowl.

    Mix flour, soda, salt and cinnamon.

    Add to fruit.

    Cream butter and sugar; add eggs.

    Add to floured fruit mix.

    Grease a cookie sheet.

    Make into balls and mash down with fork.

    Bake at 325° for 15 minutes. Cookies should be light in color and edges brown when removed from oven.
