  • 2 lb. fruit (dates, pineapple, etc.)
  • 1 lb. nuts
  • 1 lb. pecans
  • 1/2 lb. cherries
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    Mix fruit and nuts together.

    (Do not chop.)

    Beat yolks and whites separately.

    Add vanilla to yolks.

    Pour yolks over the nut mixture slowly.

    Sift dry ingredients 3 times.

    Add dry ingredients and beaten whites to fruit and nut mixture.

    Put in oven at 250° for 1 1/2 hours.

    Do not preheat oven before putting cake in.
