  • 3 c. fruit (drain if using canned or frozen)
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • cinnamon, nutmeg or allspice to taste
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. sugar

Directions

    Melt 1/2 cup butter in large 9 x 13-inch baking dish.

    Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and milk; mix well.

    Pour this batter into baking dish over melted butter.

    Do not stir!

    Over the batter spoon 3 cups fruit.

    Again, do not mix!

    Sprinkle 1/2 cup sugar over fruit.

    Sprinkle spices over fruit.

    Bake in a 350° oven for 20 to 30 minutes.
