- 1 stick margarine
- 1 large can fruit
- 1/2 c. sugar (omit if fruit is already sweetened)
- 1 c. liquid (juice from fruit plus water to make the c. of liquid)
- 1 c. self-rising flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 2/3 c. milk
Directions

1Put butter, fruit and sugar (if needed) and the cup of liquid in an 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.

2Heat until butter is melted.

3Mix flour and sugar; mix in milk, stirring until smooth.

4Pour batter evenly over fruit mixture.

5(Batter usually goes to bottom but rises while cooking.)

6Bake at 375° for 25 minutes.

7Serve warm.

8It's great with scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

9Suitable for freezing.
