- fresh or canned fruit (any type)
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. butter, softened
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 c. sifted flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2/3 c. boiling water
Directions

1Cover bottom of 8-inch square pan with fruit (drain well if using canned fruit).

2I usually fill it between 1/3 to 1/2 full (8 large or 14 small peaches).

3Mix 3/4 cup sugar, butter, baking powder, salt, milk and flour together; spread batter over fruit. Mix remaining 1 cup sugar and cornstarch; sprinkle over batter. Pour boiling water over top.

4Bake at 375° for 45 minutes or until done.
