- 1/4 c. butter
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. flour
- 2 c. fruit (rhubarb is especially good)
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. water
Directions

1Mix 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder and flour.

2Cut in butter. Add milk and stir only until mixed together.

3Spread in a greased baking dish (large enough so liquid won't boil over).

4Pour fruit, 1 cup brown sugar and water over the batter.

5Bake about 40 minutes at 350°.

6When baked, crust will be on top.
