- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 (17 oz.) can fruit cocktail, drained, reserving juice
- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1 small pkg. pecans, chopped
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 small can milk
- 1 stick oleo
Directions

1Beat 1 1/2 cups sugar, eggs and the fruit well.

2Add reserved juice and mix.

3Sift in the flour, soda and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Bake in an 8 1/2 x 11-inch pan for 45 minutes at 300°.

4Bring to a rolling boil the brown sugar, pecans, 1/2 cup sugar, milk, vanilla and oleo.

5Pour on top of cake and return to oven for 5 to 10 minutes.
