- 3 eggs
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 c. margarine, at room temperature
- 4 c. plain flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. ginger
- 1 c. molasses
Directions

1Cream together margarine and sugar.

2Add egg and mix well. Add molasses and mix.

3Add half of buttermilk and mix.

4Add dry ingredients alternately with rest of the buttermilk.

5Mix well. Grease and flour 9-inch cake pans.

6Pour 1 cup of batter into each pan.

7Spread to sides of pans.

8This will make 9 to 10 layers. Bake 12 to 15 minutes in a 400° oven.

9Cool layers on towel.

10Put sweetened applesauce between each layer or use dried apple filling.
