- 2 c. brown sugar
- 4 eggs
- 3 Tbsp. hot water
- 1 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 2 c. fruit (any kind)
Directions

1Combine 1 cup brown sugar and eggs.

2Beat well.

3Add water and beat again.

4Add flour, baking powder and vanilla and mix well. Combine remaining brown sugar and butter in heavy saucepan.

5Heat until sugar is melted.

6Pour caramel mixture into bottom of 9 x 9-inch cake pan.

7Add fruit.

8Pour batter over fruit.

9Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

10Remove from oven and immediately turn pan upside-down onto a serving platter.

11Serve warm with milk.
