- 2 c. pecan halves
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. sifted plain flour
- dash of salt
- 1/2 lb. candied pineapple
- 1/2 lb. candied cherries
Directions

1Chop pineapple and cherries.

2Spread pecans evenly over bottom of greased 15 x 10 x 1-inch pan.

3Thoroughly cream butter and sugar.

4Add eggs and vanilla.

5Combine flour and salt; blend into creamed mixture.

6Spoon batter over pecan halves, pressing evenly with dampened hands.

7Sprinkle fruit over batter and press in slightly.

8Bake in a 300° to 325° oven for one hour.

9(Keep a check.)

10Cool in pan.

11When cold, cut into bars.

12Makes 32 to 36 bars.
