  • 1 1/4 c. skim milk
  • 1/3 c. packed brown sugar
  • 3 egg whites, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. toasted whole wheat bread cubes (2 to 3 slices)
  • 1/2 c. Kretschmer wheat germ
  • 1/2 c. mixed dried fruit
  • low-fat yogurt or milk (optional)

    Heat oven to 350°.

    Lightly spray 1 1/2-quart casserole dish with no-stick cooking spray.

    Combine first 4 ingredients in casserole; gently stir in remaining ingredients except yogurt. Bake on center oven rack 40 to 45 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
