  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. packed brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. chopped candied or real pineapple
  • 1/2 c. chopped red and green candied cherries
  • 1 c. raisins or chopped pitted dates
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts (optional of course)
  • Glaze

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.

    In a large bowl, beat butter or margarine, brown sugar and vanilla. Add flour and baking soda, beating until blended.

    Stir in pineapple, cherries, raisins or dates and walnuts.

    Spread mixture evenly in greased baking pan.

    Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden.

    Do not overbake.

    Surface should be slightly soft.
