- 1 (4 lb.) boneless chuck roast
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 2 c. apple juice
- 2 c. water
- 4 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. dried apricots
- 1 c. pitted prunes
- 1 large cooking apple, peeled and sliced
Directions

1Brown roast on all sides in hot oil in Dutch oven; pour off drippings. Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper. Add apple juice, water and cinnamon sticks. Bring to a boil.

2Cover, reduce heat and simmer 1 hour.
