Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1/16 tsp. cream of tartar
  • pinch of salt
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp. butter or oleo

Directions

    Blend sugar, cream of tartar and cocoa.

    Add milk; mix well. Place on low heat.

    Stir until reaches boiling point.

    Then do not stir.

    Boil until soft ball stage in cup of cold water.

    Remove from heat.

    Add butter or oleo and vanilla.

    Place pan in cold water.

    Let set until cool to fingertips.

    Then beat; put nuts in and put on wax paper.

    Drop by spoon or you may cut it.
