Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 Tbsp. white corn syrup
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. walnuts

Directions

    Combine sugar, milk, salt, chocolate and corn syrup in saucepan.

    Cook and store over low heat until sugar dissolves. Cook slowly to soft ball stage (238°).

    Stir frequently.

    Remove from heat.

    Add butter; cool mixture to 110° or lukewarm.

    Beat in vanilla and nuts for 3 minutes or until mixture is not glossy. Pour into buttered 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan.

    Cool; cut in squares.
