  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 sq. chocolate (unsweetened)
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • dash of salt
  • pinch of cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • butter (size of walnut)
  • nuts
  • marshmallow (optional 2 Tbsp.)

Directions

    Grease side of pan.

    Combine sugar, milk, chocolate, cream of tartar and salt.

    Stir well.

    Bring to a boil, having thermometer reach 238°.

    Remove from stove.

    Add butter.

    When lukewarm, add nuts, marshmallow and vanilla.

    Beat and pour in buttered pan. Cool and cut into squares.
